Concrete releases moisture very slowly. When a structure is built on a concrete slab foundation the concrete should not have a high moisture content. High moisture content in concrete can be caused by design flaws, water table issues, and plumbing leaks inside the slab.

Our specialized thermal drying equipment has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to dry concrete. It has proven itself very effective where other methods of dehumidifying the air above simply cannot get the job done.

Step1: Containment

Photo of a particular area to be dried contained by plastic tentingThe area to be dried is covered with plastic tenting. This is done to hold as much heat as possible onto the surface.

Step 2 : Evaporation

Photo of the boiler in useIt is necessary to raise the surface temperature of the concrete as high as possible. H2O Drying will dry concrete with use of our 200kbtu boiler. The boiler heats a thermal fluid which is pumped to a series of heat exchangers.

The hoses radiate heat and will be laid directly on top of the concrete spaced to cover as much of the area as possible. Heat exchangers are then placed at the edge of the containment area. They will blow heat under the plastic.

Step 3 : Ventilation/Dehumidification

Photo of the space of the projeectAs the heat rises and evaporation occurs it is important to evacuate this to the exterior. Thermostat controlled exhaust fans with ducting to the outside are placed. They are set up in such a way that when activated they create a river of air flowing through the drying area.
