Spring Is Here: Avoid The Condensate Blues.

Staff

The Blues has been a popular American genre of music since the 1800s. This soulful fusion of instruments, voice and storytelling is the foundation of rock & roll, gospel, country, soul, jazz and R&B music. The Managing Partner at H2O Drying Solutions, Clayton Blount, is a lover of music, especially the blues. He spends a lot of time jamming and dancing to the cool rhythms of blues, but Clayton is no lover of the “Condensate Blues.”

What is “Condensate Blues?”
The Condensate Blues are the unwelcome issues that may develop in air conditioning condensation lines during the warmer months. As spring temperatures begin to rise, you want to make sure that your AC condensation lines are working as they should, so you can avoid feeling blue.

Here are some common effects of the Condensate Blues:

  • Bugs, leaves and other debris may get caught in your AC system’s drain lines and block them. This can cause the unit to function ineffectively or shut down, altogether.
  • When drain lines are clogged, the water in your drain pan may overflow.
  • Drip-pan overflow can cause leaking and flooding inside your home. Water stains and damage to ceilings and walls are common signs.
  • Rust can develop as water sits in the system, unable to drain. This shortens the lifespan of your AC unit.
  • Odors may linger in your home from the clogged drains and outside debris.
  • Mold and mildew growth can proliferate over time.

Damaged condensation lines can result in deterioration of your system and unhealthy conditions within your home. In order to avoid these issues, it’s always best to schedule regular maintenance with your AC company.

Damage from standing water in your condensation drain lines can occur fairly quickly. If you are a victim of leaking, flooding or water damage due to a clogged or broken condensation line, be sure to call H2O Drying to cure those Condensation Blues at 1-877-475-5322.
